Cameco Corporation (Cameco) is a uranium producer and a provider of processing services required to produce fuel for nuclear power plants. Cameco, along with its subsidiaries, is primarily engaged in the exploration for and the development, mining, refining, conversion and fabrication of uranium for sale as fuel for generating electricity in nuclear power reactors in Canada and other countries. It operates in three segments: uranium, fuel services and electricity. The uranium segment includes the exploration for, mining, milling, purchase and sale of uranium concentrate. The fuel services segment includes the refining, conversion and fabrication of uranium concentrate and the purchase and sale of conversion services. The electricity segment includes the generation and sale of electricity. It is also a commercial supplier of UO2 to Candu reactors operated in Canada.
