Energy

Declining oil production and harder-to-find reserves make a compelling case for higher oil & gas prices going forward, making oil & gas stocks an attractive investment. We believe that high energy prices are here to stay, and that this represents the beginning of a trend, not a peak. In the case of natural gas, we believe prices have room to move up due to the high decline rates of the new shale wells being drilled today. The recent approval of the U.S.’s first liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal in Louisiana also bodes well for higher natural prices, as the current North American price is about half of the European level.
